Cook County Assessors Office extends appeal deadlines for Elk Grove and Maine Townships

CHICAGO – The Cook County Assessor’s Office announced today that appeal deadlines for Elk Grove and Maine Townships have been extended.

An error in the reassessment values for a small number of condominiums in Elk Grove Township resulted in the deadline date being extended from May 18, 2019 to May 29, 2019.

“We found the error affected 2,516 Elk Grove properties, approximately 8% of the total properties in the township,” said Scott Smith, Chief Communications Officer for the Assessor’s Office “We extended the deadline to ensure that all taxpayers have adequate time to file appeals of their proposed reassessment values.”

Maine Township reassessment notices will be mailed a few days after originally projected. They will be mailed on May 7, 2019 and will have an appeal deadline date of June 7, 2019.
