Industrial/Commercial Valuations Junior Analyst
The Office of the Assessor of Cook County is seeking applications for an Industrial/Commercial Junior Analyst position. Job duties include, but are not limited to, the ability to research value, analyze and evaluate appraisal data, the ability to process Certificates of Error, and to make recommendations concerning the valuation of industrial and commercial property in Cook County both on the 1st pass and 2nd pass levels. Works with the Internet and other office technological tools to gather data and possess knowledge of the assessment cycle and computer assisted mass appraisal systems. Must understand the nature of numerical relationships utilized in finance and have a good understanding of business mathematics. Responsible for analyzing appraisal problems involving complex issues and presenting recommendations that are well supported by the income, cost, and sales approaches to value and in accordance with office policies and procedures. Must work effectively under prescribed assessment deadlines, participate in continuing education and assist with taxpayer services.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or greater, or enrollment in education advancement beyond Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience. Two or more years in I/C mass appraisal or other credible related experience preferred. Candidate should have an understanding of CCAO procedures, policies, practices, guidelines, and other applicable rules and regulations related to valuation of real property, assessment standards, practices, and the three approaches to value and computed assisted mass appraisal systems. Candidate should also have a good working knowledge of the assessment cycle. Candidate should be familiar with the various I/C property classifications as well as the application of all three approaches to value. Strong work ethic, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are also necessary.
SALARY:
$38,205 Grade: 14
NOTE; internal candidates applying for this position who are currently a grade 14 or below will not be subject to a salary decrease if chosen for this position.
