DIVISIONS JUNIOR ANALYST |

The Office of the Assessor of Cook County is seeking applications for Division Junior Analyst. Job duties include configuring and reconfiguring tax parcels, analyzing and writing legal descriptions of minimal complexity as requested by taxpayers, reconfigure tax parcel boundaries, and acting as an information representative regarding these matters to the taxpayer. Must be able to analyze and write both simple divisions and be able to visualize and comprehend taxpayer requests and able to analyze and understand simple surveys and legal description. Will perform other duties as required or assigned. May work extended hours as assigned. |

QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent, some post-secondary education highly recommended. Must have ability to use a personal computer. Must have good math, geography and mapping aptitude skills. Must have good analytic skills, prior understanding of legal descriptions considered a plus. Must have good communications skills. Prior customer service experience preferred. |

SALARY RANGE: $32,306 - $37,342 Annually |

Develop appraisal standards and write reports regarding economic trends. Assist in tax policy development, perform statistical and analytical research. QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in public policy, public administration, economics, finance, or related field. Knowledge of property tax desirable but not required. Knowledge of Excel and SPSS (or similar statistical software) necessary. Sound analytical and mathematical skills, and experience in conducting research projects preferred. Strong communication, writing, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills required. |

SALARY RANGE: $55,498 to 60,991 Annually |

PROGRAMMER/DEVELOPER |
|
The Office of the Cook County Assessor (CCAO) is seeking applications for a Programmer/Developer. The Programmer/Developer will provide full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) solutions for the CCAO. The Programmer/Developer will consult with users, advise them and provide technical assistance to help define their needs by obtaining their program requirements. The Programmer/Developer will be required to design and review program specifications, create documentation, customize and implement applications and systems for user departments. The Programmer/Developer will test applications and systems, provide maintenance, software changes and enhancements. The Programmer/Developer will assume responsibility for multiple projects as directed. Perform assignments and duties as required or assigned. May work extended hours and weekends as assigned. Must have the ability to write with precision and communicate information of a technical nature in a clear manner. |

QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Experience (Academic or Professional) programming with any of the .NET Languages (C#, ASP.NET, Visual Basic .NET).
• Experience (Academic or Professional) with one or more of the following: Visual Basic, ASP, C++, HTML, JavaScript, SQL
• Experience (Academic or Professional) working with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Access).
