Welcome to Cook County Assessor James M. Houlihan’s 2007 Property Exemption Application/Renewal Page. As part of our ongoing effort to improve our customer service, we have added a new feature to make renewing property tax exemptions easier.

This page can be used to renew the Senior Citizen Exemption and to apply for the Homeowner Exemption. It can also be used to check the status of an exemption application and to download exemption applications.

(Please note: If you are applying for the Senior Citizen Exemption for the first time, you will not be able to apply online. However, homeowners applying for the Homeowner Exemption for the first time will be able to apply online)

Instructions

You will need your Permanent Index Number (PIN) in order to apply for all exemptions or to check on the status of exemptions.

(Please Note: Taxpayers who receive the Senior Citizen Exemption, will automatically receive the Homeowner Exemption)
